Toothed belt wheel

A toothed belt wheel transmits a rotating drive movement to a toothed belt or vice versa.
The wheel consists of the toothed part and two laterally mounted toothed pulleys, which give the toothed belt a secure guidance.
Since the power transmission between the belt and wheel takes place positively, the gear geometry is of great importance, both in terms of geometry and manufacturing quality. Especially at high speeds, the noise and the life of the system depend on it . Too little conformity of the tooth profiles of belt and wheel lead to heavy wear at profile's edges.
Even more so than geometry and manufacturing quality, the belt tension affects the service life and reliability of the drive system. If no optimal value is maintained here, and if the belt tension is too high, it will wear too much. If the belt tension is too low, the belt will possibly come off the wheel.
